SEEK brings together researchers from computer science, construction, and manufacturing. This diverse team is developing a comprehensive approach to extracting and composing knowledge resident in heterogeneous legacy systems. This supports operational decisions in the extended supply chain. Current research thrusts in SEEK include:

Mechanisms to automatically discover (a limited range of) knowledge resident in legacy sources.
Complementary empirical research in documenting the variation in firms' information systems.
Development of new models to compose extracted data, supporting input to extended-enterprise decisions support models.
