How to Create a DataBlade Module

The following table describes, in order, the tasks needed to create a DataBlade module and the tools you should use to complete them.

If necessary, obtain error codes and the three-character DataBlade module identification code from Informix.	Send email to registry@informix.com
Create your DataBlade module: Set up a project for your DataBlade module. Import objects from other DataBlade modules. Define new objects for your DataBlade module. Add test data for your new routines, opaque types, and casts. Generate source code, SQL scripts, installation files, and test files.	BladeSmith
Edit the source code to add C code for routines, as needed.	Your development tool or text editor
Compile your source code.	Your compiler
Install your DataBlade module.	Operating system copy command or FTP

Debug your DataBlade module.	Informix Dynamic Server with Universal Data Option and a debugging utility
Package your DataBlade module: Add examples, on-line help files, and any other files you wish to include to the project. Define any additional components for a selective installation. Perform optional customizations for installation packages. Build the installation package.	BladePack
